- Ecosystem Restoration: Designed Bayesian and graphical models to support recovery of ʻōhiʻa forests threatened by fungal pathogens.
- Forest Resource Optimization: Developed stochastic frontier and Gaussian process models to maximize timber yield and predict tree growth in complex forests.
- Wildfire Risk Reduction: Built decision tree and nonlinear models to predict wildfire survival outcomes, influencing policy and insurer guidance.
- Capacity Building: Trained 100+ scientists in Bayesian methods, statistical modeling, and machine learning through workshops and mentoring.
